Biography
Edward Jr was born 1836 in Troy NY, and died 1911 at his summer home in Elberon NJ.
Graduated St John's College, Fordham NY.
Married in 1867 to Julia Delehanty (1842-1915). Adult children included five sons and three daugthers.
Edward Jr managed the family brewery business with his father, Edward Sr, from 1857 until his father retired, and the business was merged with William Kennedy in 1867: Kennedy and Murphy Brewing and Malting Co. [1] [2] [3]
His career in politics included:
Chair of the NY State Democratic Committee
Mayor of Troy
US Senator from New York.
