Was in WWI and suffered from what they called then to be "Shell Shock" but now referred to as Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. In his later days he suffered from seizures and depression. He was taken to the VA hospital where he died within a few weeks. He is buried at Clark Cemetery, Del Rio, TN
