Marion Murray is a member of Clan Murray.

She married, contract 14 July 1445, Sir Malcolm Drummond of Cargill.[1][2]

Research Notes

Some sources show Marion Murray as being the the daughter of Sir David Murray (~1400-1452), the 7th lord of Tullibardine and others show her as being the daughter of David Murray (1359-1446), the 6th lord.

For example, thepeerage.com[3] shows her father as the 7th. This is based on the original source as Burke's Peerage (1906).[4] However, this original source only describes her as the daughter of "Sir David Murray of Tullibardine", without specifying which one.

A genealogical memoir' (1889)[2] claims the sixth laird. This may have been based on The peerage of Scotland (1716) which, however, has David being the son of Walter and the father of William Murray - ie seemingly merging the 6th lord and 7th lord into one person.[5]

The 6th laird was born ~1359 (based on the marrage date of his parents) and the 7th laird married Margaret Colquhoun in 1430. Sir Malcolm Drummond was born in 1416 and married Marion in 1445. Is it more likely that Marion was the daughter of the 6th laird (and perhaps born ca. 1400, married at 45) or the daughter of the 7th laird (born in 1430 after their marrage and only 15 when she was married)?
