Biography

John Musgrave was a William Penn fleet passenger.
John was a Friend (Quaker)

John Musgrave (Musgrove) is believed born about 1669. He came from Belfast as indentured servant to Valentine Hollingsworth on the William Penn Fleet ship "Antelope."[1] to New Castle County, Pennsylvania in 1682. He served a four year indenture.

Later removed to Sadsbury, Lancaster County. A 4 Jun 1735 legal deposition giving his age as about sixty-six was made in connection with the boundary dispute between Pennsylvania and Maryland. In this deposition, which denotes him as Quaker, he himself gives evidence of his arrival and indenture.[2]

He made his will (Lancaster County) in 1745. Mentions children: John, James, Thomas, Abraham, Esther wife of John Griffith, Martha wife of Benjamin Miller, Sara wife of Theophilus Owen, and to other daughters married to John Ferree and Thomas Powell.[3] [4]

Musgrave-19 and Musgrave-45 appear to represent the same person because: there are two ID's for the same man - John "The Quaker" Musgrave, son of Oswin and Elizabeth
