Biography

Christian Musselman Jr. was a Pennsylvanian.

Alternate birth year 1668

"Christian Musselman lived in Lancaster Township, along the Conestoga Creek near Wabank. He died in 1734, leaving among other children, two sons, Peter and David Musselman (the name in German was spelled Mossermann). Peter purchased land from Christian Herr in the Manor southeast of Millersville. David moved to Hempfield Township, where he owned large farms." [1] 1721 John Musselman, relationship to Christian Musselman unknown, was listed in the Conestoga assessment. [2]

1724-25 Henry and Christian Musselman were listed in the Conestoga assessment, Chester County (now Lancaster Co). [3][4]

1734 The will of Christian Musselman was dated 29 June and was probated 8 October. Children were Henry, Frena, Eva, David, Michael, and Peter. Executors were Michael Froutz and Michael Gritter. Son Peter inherited the family property. [5]

1800 Christian Musselman likely lived on land he purchased from John Herr. John Herr patented 600 acres of land in 1717. John Herr died intestate and son Abraham Herr inherited 295 acres of the land. Abraham Herr and wife Feronica deeded 36 acres to Peter Musselman in 1746. Perhaps Christian Muselman, who had died in 1734 and gave his land to son Peter never received a deed from John Herr for his land, so it was deeded to Christian Musselman's son Peter Musselman.
