He passed away in 1814 while serving in the War of 1812. His widow Elizabeth (nee Decious) Nunn applied for his War of 1812 Pension.
His Uncle Christian Musselman, appointed guardian to young Joseph after death of this Joseph. Christian was also the administrator of his brother, Joseph Musselman Sr.'s estate (Shenandoah County, VA). There are guardian account records available. Joseph Jr. was the only child of Joseph Musselman. The others are half siblings....children born after Joseph Sr. died.
His son Joseph Musselman, Jr. chose Judge Daniel Blosser as his guardian on 6\28\1831 in Page County, VA.
