Biography

Birth and parents : Michael was born on 20 Feb 1796.[1] An unsourced Findagrave entry identifies him as the son of Henry Myers and Barbara Brillhart, and gives that he was born in Reading Twp, York Co. (now Adams Co.)[1]; this is consistent with Seilhamer who gives that Henry came originally from Adams County.[2]

Marriage and children : Michael married Mary Bear[2] c.1816. Their children are identified as :

  1. Henry [2]
  2. Samuel [2]
  3. Noah B. [2] b.c.1837 [3]
  4. Mary Myers (b.c.1825)[3]
  5. Leah m. Joseph Bitner [2]
  6. Annie d. unm. [2]
  7. Elizabeth m. Joseph Wegley [2]
  8. Sarah b.1833/6 m. Isaac Wingert [2][3]
  9. Nancy [2] b.c.1839 [3]
  10. Susannah Myers

In 1823, Micha sold the farm in Reading Township. He moved his family from Reading to Washington Co, MD, then to Atrium Twp, Franklin Co, PA (Dec 1828), and finally, in 1836, sold the farm in Atrium and settled permanently in Guilford Twp, also in Franklin County. He acquired more land in Guilford, and also in Southampton Township, Franklin Co., near Shippensburg.[1]

1850 census : Micha (age 54) was farming in Guilford, Franklin Co., PA. He was living with his wife, Mary, and (presumed) children Mary (25), Sarah (14), Noah (13), Nancy (11).[3]

Death : Micha died on 23 June 1866 and is buried in the New Guilford Cemetery, Fayetteville, Franklin Co., PA[1]
