DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Gregory or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
  • Gregory Myers: Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Test 64 markers, haplogroup R-CTS4528, FTDNA kit #N74618
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
  • Gregory Myers: Family Tree DNA mtDNA Test HVR1 and HVR2, haplogroup U4b1a1a, FTDNA kit #N74618
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Gregory:

Hello Gregory

Thanks for joining WikiTree. I'm a Mentor available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may have about WikiTree.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

If you have questions, feel free to ask me via my profile page.

Maryann ~ WikiTree Mentor

Is there a way to delete my original GEDCOM upload? That GEDCOM has subsequently proven to have possible inaccuracies concerning my grandfather (my fathers father). While the name McClendon is listed on the birth certificate, there is no supporting information (DNA tests) to claim a link to the McClendon line.

Hello again and thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree! You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree with one profile per person, so it is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree. Everything on the site is a collaborative work in progress so don’t forget to read and sign our Honor Code. (http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Honor_Code) This is what keeps WikiTree a polite, friendly and helpful community. We have many hospitable, enthusiastic members from all over the world, so always feel free to ask if you have any questions. I hope you have a wonderful experience on the site, Regards, Nancy Lee
Hi all,

Just doing some genealogy research attempting to find missing ancestors along my Y-DNA line. I like the mission statement and will have no problem adhering to the goals.

Thanks, Greg Myers

Hi! I see you have uploaded your DNA for comparison. Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project. It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.
I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

If you have any brick walls, collaboration might help bust through. Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out. ANY Wiki Genealogist can edit "Open" profiles (over 200 years old = open). There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: brickwall

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM' or check out this video video tutorial.
