Myers, Harlan Hale – Age 70, of Roseburg, passed away Monday, June 23, 1997 at a foster home in Portland, Oregon. He was born November 1, 1926 in Jasonville, Indiana to James Edward and Sylvia (Grummere) Myers.
He had lived in Roseburg since 1941 moving from Indiana with his family. Harlan married Helen Lucille Roberts on January 24, 1946 in Roseburg, Oregon.
He had worked for Flegel Transfer of Roseburg for many years.
He liked country and western music and would record the music with himself singing the song. Harlan also enjoyed fishing and walking.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Helen; two daughters, Mavis Morin and her husband Tom of Portland, Oregon and Phyllis Johnson and her husband Bill of Roseburg; two sons, Harlan Myer and his wife Diana of Portland, Oregon and Dennis Myers of Roseburg; a sister, Helen Kooken of Roseburg; two brothers, Raymond and Carl Myers both of Roseburg; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, two sisters and a granddaughter. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 26, 1997 at 2 p.m. at the Civil Bend Cemetery in Winston, Oregon. Chaplain Les Albjerg will be officiating. WILSON’S CHAPEL OF THE ROSES is in charge of arrangements.
