Biography

John Seth Myrick was born in Franklinville, New York State, USA on June 15, 1887, the son of John Russell Myrick (1851-1889) and Mary Lovina Wheeler Blowers (1864-1944). The surname “Blowers” is the surname of Mary Lovina’s second husband, William Blowers, John’s step-father.

John is tall with a slender build. He has blue eyes and brown hair.

On February 13, 1908 John marries Jennie L. Diltz in Franklinville. His occupation at the time is a carpenter.

John and Jennie live for a time in Buffalo where John continues to work as a carpenter but by the time of the 1930 US census they are back living in Franklinville. They raise a family of six children:

• Harold M. Myrick (1908-1914)

• Mary E. Myrick (1910-?) + (1934) Henry Griffith Williams (1912-? )

• Gerald C. Myrick (1915-1981)

• Geraldine I. Myrick (1915-1981)

• Onilee Myrick (c1918-?)

• Lillian Myrick (1920-1985) + Stanley M. Lukasiak (1913-1991)

Jennie dies in 1936 and is buried in the Mount Prospect Cemetery, Franklinville. John dies on November 1, 1948 and is buried with her.
