Philipp Heinrich Müller, son of Johannes Müller and his wife Elisabetha Guiker / Gucker, [1] was born on 19 March 1804 in Buhl, Elsass, Germany (now Buhl, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France). [2]

In French records he is referred to as Henry Müller; in the United States of America he came to be known as Henry Miller.

Heinrich wed Maria Eva Humbert on 23 February 1823 in Hatten, Elsass (Alsace). [3] They had the following children:

Worker, fifty-one Years old, and Philipp Luntz, Worker, fourty-four Years old; and declares to me, that his wedded Wife Elisabetha Guikerin / Guckerin this morning at three oclock came with a little Son in the Childbed [sic!] whom the Name has been given: Philipp Heinrich. ... the present act regarding this [birth] has been drawn up, which the Father of this Child, and both Witnesses, with us the Maire ... have signed.
