Biography

This biography is a rough draft and needs to be edited.

Daniel and Lydia Sayre (Banks) Neal started their family in Stokes, North Carolina where their first three children were born, just south of Bedford, Virginia where their parents had lived.

Their next three children were born in the vicinity of Peterstown (on the edge of modern Virginia and West Virginia) west of Bedford, in Monroe County, Virginia.

They were among the families from Monroe and Greenbrier, Virginia that migrated to Gallia, Ohio around 1822 and the rest of their children were born in Ohio.

After a short stint in Walnut Township, Gallia County, the family settled in Aid Township in Lawrence County very near the Lawrence and Gallia County border. Their children can be found buying property, marrying and settling in both counties.
