Biography
Mrs. Annabell Neal Everett, 97, of Alleyton passed away Tuesday.
Mrs. Everett was born in Alleyton and married in 1899. Her great-great grandfather, Abram Alley, was one of Stephen F. Austin's 300 original colonists.
She was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church of Columbus and held memberships in the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonists, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Griffith and Mrs. Laura Brasher of Alleyton; three grandchildren, Miss Louise Dick of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Laura Ann Dick Rau of Columbus, and Jack Brasher of Weimar; four great grandchildren, Ann Brasher West of Houston, Marilyn Brasher Hollar of Dallas, Dr. John M. Brasher of Houston, and James E. Brasher of College Station; one great-great grandson, Charles Griffith Hollar of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Neal Clements of Victoria and Mrs. Nina Neal Shannon of Columbus; one brother, Gail Neal of Wharton. One daughter, Mrs. Hattie Mae Dick , died in 1974.
Pallbearers are great grandsons and great nephews, Dr. John M. Brasher, David Hollar, Greg West, Jim Brasher, Will Neal Adams, DeGraf Adams, Thurman S. Clements, Jr. and Don Shannon. [Interment in Odd Fellows' Rest]
