Margaret was baptised in Caistor on 12 March 1703; her parents were Hugh and Ann Neal.[1]
She may have married Thomas Brocklesby in the neighbouring parish of Nettleton in May 1729[2] and/or, she may have married Francis Brocklesby in Nettleton in 1735
[3]
Margaret and Francis had five known children in Nettleton:
3. It is known from Margaret's baptism record in Caistor that her parents were Hugh Neal and his wife Ann
4. It is known from parish records that a Hugh Neal married Ann Sharp in Caistor in 1697[5]
5. It is also known from Caistor parish records that a different Hugh Neale was baptised in 1655 and that his parents were William and Martha Neale[6] and that this Hugh Neale married Anne Hancock in Caistor in 1678[7]
6. It has therefor been assumed that a generation has been omitted between Margaret and Hugh Neal (abt.1655-1681) and that he was her grandfather, not her father.
