Also, Donald Howard commented about the GEDMatch ID a while back. I see a GEDMatch GEDCOM ID 5870146 associated with kit number A636690 that looks like you, so if you'd like to edit your AncestryDNA info on https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:DNATests to replace 5870146 with A636690 that will enable the integration from WikiTree to work for you and your cousins.

Donna, have you seen our page on Spanish naming conventions? Some of us will add de before the husband's primary surname in the Current Last Name field of a wife, using a Last Name of Birth like "Diaz Mansilla" and a Current Last Name "de Sotomayor". When I see the birth name written as "Diaz y Mansilla" I include the " y " but others find it cumbersome and leave it out.

I am back on line and will be going through the profiles that have "de" and "y". My husband (a Chilean) has explained that the use of y" between the paternal surname and maternal sur name has been dropped over time. "de" is often used to indicate the name of a women's husband. I've been gathering and organizing information and now its time to circle back to Wikitree and add corrections, citations, etc.
Hi Donna,

My grand grand mother was sister of Hans - your grand grand father. Could it be possible to contact you?

Hello,

Just tried your gedmatch kit. Is invalid. Usually, Ancestry kits start with the letter A. I tried that, too. No luck.

Can you change the last name at birth for https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/W-278 to Mellon ?
posted by Kay (Sands) Knight
I have tried but have been only partially successful. There is another step I need to complete so that the change shows up in all the fields. I was off Wikitree for some time taking care of family business, but have been able to pick it up again. So sorry for the delay. Please let me know if you would like editing rights for this person or any other direct relatives. I'm afraid my tree has grown far too tall for one person to keep up with.
If you add me to the trusted list for https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/W-278 I'll correct his last name at birth

Thanks for catching the duplicate Susannah Rogers and proposing a merger. I have found only one Susannah Wallace.

Hi Donna, It looks like you may have some outstanding merges that need attention. You can find them by following the link at the top of this page under >Find> Pending merges> the hit the link that says “MY WATCHLIST”. Thanks for helping with Wikitree and if you have any questions, just ask!

Thank you for suggesting the merge of Dunbar-1615 and Dunbar-1616. I could only find one Mary Ophelia Dunbar. WikiTree always assigns women the surname of their husband; an egregious, paternalistic, confusing, and offensive practice. My trees are never organized that way.

Please provide me a method of finding these individuals so that I can merge them. Did I enter the same person twice?

Full, Phul l, Fohl. I have a Lewis Full, b ca 1765, probably PA but maybe (W) VA. There are two other Fulls, Barbara and George, in the area of what is now Pendleton County WV.... may be siblings. Lewis may have been a junior.

Do you have any more information?
