Johann (Neumann) Newman served with Dunmore County Militia, Virginia Militia during the American Revolution.

John was born about 1744. He served as a Soldier for Dunmore County Militia, Virginia, under command of Captain Alexander Machir.

He passed away about 1806.

Newman-5460 and Neumann-439 appear to represent the same person because: birth and death dates are about the same. I am guessing that the birth surname was probably Neuman or Neumann and changed to Newman in the US.

The birth locations need to be researched further, but they are in agreement on Rhineland, Germany.

There will be duplicate children but they can be addressed after the merge.
