Stuart, DP is Domesday People by Keats-Rohan and CP is Complete Peerage, by various authors. These are two modern works commonly used as strong authorities.

We still need some reason not to disconnect Ernius.

I can see an Ernius existed in the various books around, but I see no good writer who sees any connection with the family we have him in. Also he seems in the wrong generation.

Does not appear in this Neville family in CP. There is an Erneis in Keats-Rohan, DP p.610. He is simply called a brother of Hugh. his wife was Juliana, and his father was possibly also Hugh. She cites Documents Illustrative of the Danelaw https://archive.org/details/documentsillustr00stenuoft
