Biography

James was born in 1783. He died in 1849 at the age of 65 - 66.

Parents: Capt. James Neville 1741 - 1840 and Sarah (Joyce) Neville 1741 - 1823. James served during the American Revolution.

Spouse: Phoebe (Renick) Neville 1782 - 1873. They were married 3/8/1803 in Barren, Kentucky. Per Kentucky, County Marriages, 1797 - 1954. Findagrave #95647957

John was brought to Lincoln County, Kentucky in 1779 by his parents, and then they moved to Barren County by 1800. They took care of the three grandchildren (Amanda, Rebecca and James) of their son James III, when the first wife (Virginia Bailey) died. Eventually, that son, James Neville III was shot to death in 1863 in Missouri. Additional children included Thomas, Elizabeth (Betsy), Sarah (Sally), Dr. George Washington Neville, John Thomas, and William Thomas.
