Biography

Rebecca was born about 1678 probably in Nansemond, Virginia. There is no primary source record of her birth.

She married first Jacob Overman in 1699 in Pasquotank, North Carolina.[1] He passed away in 1715.

Children of Rebecca and Jacob:[2]
Rebecca, b. 11 Sep 1700
John, b. 23 Jul 1702, d. 4 Dec 1744
Thomas, b. 20 Jan 1704
Jacob III, b. 17 Dec 1705, d. 8 Jul 1715

Joseph, b. 20 Dec 1712, d. 6 Dec 1739
James, b. Jul 1715, d. 21 Jan 1746.

She married second Robert White in 1719 in Pasquotank, North Carolina.[1][3] Robert had a first wife who had run away and so Rebecca was disowned by the Society of Friends for marrying Robert.[1]

Rebecca's Will was written 31 Mar 1750 and proved 25 Apr 1750 and reads in part:[4][5]
