Biography

Jonas was born about 1818. His parents were Emanuel Newcomer and Catherine (Funk) Newcomer.

His father died before 1840.

In 1850 he was living in Illinois with his mother and his 2 tyoungest siblings (Emanuel and Catherine). Also there was an 8 year old Samuel Newcomer but it is unknown what his relation was. [1]

In 1860 he was living in the home of his married sister Catherine in Illinois. [2]

In 1870 he was living in the home of Richard Robinson in Iowa.

His death date is unknown.

Research Notes

  • Perhaps he married Amelia Summers in 1841 [3] but she isn't on the 1850 census or any other.
