May was born 6 Jun 1889, daughter of George Alfred Newall (1851-1927) and Sarah Elizabeth Houseman (1853-1949)[1]. She was baptized 9 Jul 1889 at Christchurch, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset[2].
The 1891 Census shows 1-year-old May living with her parents and grand-aunt at Longreach House in Keynsham, Somerset[3].
In 1901, 11-year-old May was visiting the family of W A Osborn in Barton Regis, Gloucestershire, on census day[4].
May was again living at Weston-super-Mare with her parents in 1911[5].
About Aug 1917, May married Wilfred Maurice Brown in the Axbridge Registration District[6]. They had the following children:
The 1921 Census shows May, Maurice and their first two children lived with her parents in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset[7].
On the 1939 Register, Maurice, May, four children and May's mother were still living in Weston-Super-Mare, but at a different address[8].
May passed away 20 Oct 1985 at Weston-super-Mare[9]. Probate was granted 24 Jan 1986[10].
