Brownlow Newman was one of Knox County Tennessee's most distinguished farmers and the son of Tennessee's Pioneer in transportation, Captain James Edmund Newman. He lived on a river bottom farm along the French Broad River which includes three of the Islands known as Seven Islands. (TN )Taken from a Knoxville Newspaper on the occasion of his 70th anniversary.
Brownlow Lafayette Newman was born February 24,1882. He died December 14, 1984.
