Leander Greene Newman was born about May 23, 1847 in Texas, United States, son of Joseph Austin Newman (1827–1872) and Mary L. Rice (1829–~1850).
In 1850, Leander (3) was living in Wharton with his brother, Jos A (22); and M L Newman (20), and Asa Newman (4). [1]
Leander died about April 2, 1933 in Yorktown, DeWitt, Texas, aged about 85.[2][3]
