Sir John Newton (d. 1488), is the son of Sir Richard Newton (living Nov 1448; d. 1449, bur. Yatton), son of John Cradock of Newton,[1] & Margaret, dau. of Sir Owen Moythe of Castle Odwyn and Fountain Gate.[2][3][4][5]
While it's known that his father married twice, sources conflict on the identity of John's mother. Some sources state that she's Ema verch Sir Thomas Perrot (or Perret),[2][3] while others assert that it was Ema (d. abt. 1475), dau. of Sir Thomas Hervery.[6]
