Sarah Newton was born in November 1679 in Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony. Her parents were John and Elizabeth (Larkin) Newton.[1][2]
Sarah married Jonathan Rugg on 18 November 1702, in Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony. They were both of Marlborough at that time.[3][4] They removed to Framingham, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony. Sarah and Jonathan had children, all born in Framingham:[5]
Bathsheba (1703), married John Nurse
Sarah (1705), married Hachaliah Bridges
Hephzebah (1707/8), married Nathaniel Haven
Abraham (27 April 1710 - 4 May 1710)
Sarah died on 7 May 1710, less than two weeks after her son Abraham was born, and three days after he died, so her death was related to a difficult childbirth.[6][7]
Jonathan Rugg married, second, Hannah Singletary, on 11 December 1710, in Framingham.[8][9] They had children Mehitable, Hannah, Jonathan, John, and Ebenezer.[5]
Jonathan died in Framingham on 23 December 1753.[6][7]
