Biography

When Gustavus Buchanan Newton was born in 1812 in Stafford, Virginia, his father, Benjamin, was 43, and his mother, Nancy, was 40. He married Eleanor Ware Monteith in 1836 in his hometown. They had nine children in 29 years. He died in November 1870 in Stafford, Virginia, at the age of 58.
