Anne Newton was born in England in 1738. She eventually emigrated to the American colonies with her parents and siblings. Two of her siblings died on the journey while Anne and her sister, Elizabeth, lived and later married brothers. Anne and her husband, Thomas Williamson, settled in Greenville, NC.[1]
