Biography

Nathaniel was the son of Daniel & Susanna (Morse) Newton

He married Abigail Tozier, daughter of Simon & Mary (Andrews) Tozier on 5/23/1720 at Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts.

Probate

Nathaniel Newton of Southborough, husbandman died intestate and on 1 July 1749, his widow, Abigail and Richard Newton were granted the administration of his estate.[1]

His inventory was taken on 14 July 1749 in Southborough. Richard Newton was the administrator of his estate.[2]

In 1750, an account of his estate by Richard Newton was recorded which included debts paid, and administration fees.[3] In 1751, a further account was recorded.[4]

In 1750, Ebenezer Hemingway of Framingham was appointed guardian of his minor children, Joel aged about 14 years, and Abigail, aged 9 years.[5] Ebenezer Goddard of Framingham was appointed guardian of his children, Susannah, aged about 7 years old, and Benjamin, aged 11 years old.[6]

In 1751, his estate was set out to his widow Abigail, and his son, Richard Newton (eldest son), who agreed to pay the other heirs their share, viz., Simon Newton, Joel Newton, Benjamin Newton, Zerviah Newton, Abigail Newton, and Susannah Newton.[7]
