Scottish Preacher, Astronomer, Phrenologist and Headmaster/ Educator - Professor of Astronomy at the University of Glasgow, where he became famous for his inciteful lectures both at University and in public domains around Glasgow. Dr Nichols wrote many books on Science, Physics and Astronomy and the political economy, teaching also "Natural Philosophy". He was instrumental in raising the funds for an Observatory in Horselethill, West End.
He passed away on 19 September 1859 at Rothesay.[2]
