Other sites and members have listed William Anderson Nichols as a spouse of Lydia Beamon; however, no records have been found to support this conclusion although the Nichols and Beamon families have lived close together as shown in the 1900 census records.
William Anderson Nichols is suspected to be the father of at least one of her children and is listed as uncertain due to lack of documentation supporting a marriage; however, DNA evidence is being investigated and could prove this connection.
At this time, it is believed a marriage did not occur and that at least one of her children was born to William Anderson Nichols out of wedlock thus taking the mother's maiden name. Research is ongoing.
