Born in West Amesbury, now Merrimac, NH.

Harvard College Class of 1891

Graduate Andover Theological Seminary, 1894.

Ordained in to Congregational Church 1894. Pastorate in Hamilton, MA 1894 - 1906; South Hadley, Massachusetts, 1906 - 1935.

Received an honorary degree from Mount Holyoke at the 1929 Commencement.
