Biography

Mary's married Charles Brownlow Hancock in 1869. The marriage record states that this was her second marriage. Charles abandoned her a couple of years later, after the death of their baby son. When Mary remarried in 1874, she declared her marital status as "widow" although Charles may still have been alive.
