This obituary appeared in the Topeka Journal September 26, 1946 Funeral Service for Dr. Frank M. Nichols Held Sunday Dr. Frank Morse Nichols aged 39, died suddenly early Thursday morning in the home of his wife’s parents, Dr. and Mrs. William C. Hildebrand, in Topeka. Dr. Nichols had been in poor health for many years and was not able to practice the last three years. He had been seriously ill the last two weeks. Dr. Nichols was born in Howe Sept. 20, 1909 and had lived in LaGrange most of his life. He was graduated from the LaGrange High School and from Indiana University medical school. He did his interne work at St. Vincent hospital in Toledo Ohio, after which he practiced medicine with Dr. Hildebrand for a number of years, until his health failed. Surviving are the widow Nedra; two children, William and Rachel, one brother Kenyon Nichols, of New Buffalo, Mich., a sister Mrs. Diggins, of LaGrange, mother and stepfather, Mrs. John P. Caton. Funeral services were held at 3 p. m. Sunday in the Caton and Furip funeral home at LaGrange with Rev. Robert J. Murphy Pastor of the St. James Episcopal Chapel, Howe Military school, officiating. Burial took place in Riverside cemetery in Howe.
