Note:From January of 1776, one month as private in Captain John Jones' Company; from July of 1776, five months as private in Captain Levi Lincoln's Company; Colonel Holman's Regiment, and was in the battles of Harlem Heights and White Plains; from the last of April 1777, three months as a sergent in Captain Hodges' company, and went on an expedition to Rhode Island; from August 10, 1777, one month as a private in Captain Stone's company, Colonel Job Cushing's Regiment, and guarded prisoners after the battle of Bennington; from about October 1, 1777 one month as private in Captain Samuel Thompson's Company, Colonel Job Cushing's Regiment; from about June 1, 1778, as private in Captain Christopher Marshall's Company, Colonel Marshall's Regiment and was discharged March 7, 1779.<p><p> <p>At the close of the Revolutionary War, David Nichols was residing in Weathersfield, Vermont, where he continued to reside until 1790 when he moved to Reading, Vermont. He remained there three years then moved to Springfield, Vermont. He was allowed pension on his application executed May 22, 1819, at which time he was residing in Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont. In June 1832 he again located in Weathersfield, Vermont, according to the Pension Bureau at Washington, D.C.
