Charles died on September 22, 1926, in West Palm Beach, Florida, at the age of 68, and was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Battle Creek, Michigan.^[5][6]

C. H. NICHOLS. PIONEER RESIDENT, DIES IN SOUTH C. H. Nichols, pioneer resident of Battle Creek and formerly in the upholstery business here, died last evening at West Palm Beach, Fla., according to word received today by Dr. J. J. Holes from W. R. Farrlngton. The body will be brought to Battle Creek In the near future It being Impossible to ship immediately on account of flood conditions. Mr. Nichols was 68. He left Battle Creek three years ago. Mr. Nichols was a resident of Battle Creek for 40 years. His health had been poor of late.
