Biography

Edward was the eldest son of William and Mary Ann Nichols (generally acknowledged as the first victim of 'Jack the Ripper'). Edward Walker, his maternal grandfather, had a hand in educating Edward who, at the age of 21 in 1888, had become an engineer.
