Biography

Alfred Nicholson was enumerated at Union, Union County, Georgia for the September 4, United States Census, 1850. He was noted as born 1799 in South Carolina. He was shown to be a farmer with $500 of value in real estate as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household were female Mary Nicholson, male John (Jehu) Nicholson, male David Nicholson, female Delila Nicholson, male Jackson Nicholson and male Newton Nicholson.[1]

Alfred Nicholson was enumerated at Post Office Blairsville, Union County, Georgia for the July 31, United States Census, 1860. He was noted as born 1799 in South Carolina. He was noted as a farmer and had $1000 in value of real estate and $200 in value of personal estate as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household were female Mary Nicholson, male Jehu Nicholson, male Geo W Nicholson, female Mary S Nicholson and male David O Nicholson.[2]

Alfred Nicholson was enumerated as father at Arkaqua, Union County, Georgia for the June 3, United States Census, 1880. He was noted as born 1799 in North Carolina and widowed as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household were John Nicholson, wife Elizabeth Nicholson, son John W Nicholson, son James W Nicholson, daughter Cansada Nicholson and daughter Hansel E Nicholson.[3]

Alfred Nicholson was listed as the father in the Union County January 18, 1924 Georgia, Death of son Jackson V. Nicholson. The wife was listed as Barbara Etris and the mother Chastain.[4]
