James Edward Hosking Nicholson was the son of Nicholson-7361|Edward Nicholson and Hosking-782|Frances Hosking,

James was born about 1884. He was apprenticed to his father, Edward, as a plumber. NICHOLSON, James Edward Hosking - enlisted on 10 April 1916, aged 32 years 4 months, Reg . No 1066 assigned to 2nd Battalion. His Next Of Kin, Ruby Nicholson was living at 127 Alice Street, Newtown.

He landed in France on 10 April 1917 and developed mild Nephritis, on 26 Oct 1916, which kept him in and out of hospital. He returned to Australia on 7 June 1918 and was discharged on 7 Dec 1918. He married for a second time in 1962, but no record of divorce was found. He died in 1964.
