Kelse was born on 3/7/1895 and died in January 21, 1982 at age 86. Kelse was married at the time of his death. E-mail from Sharon Miller Bevis in November 2013: Richard Jerome Miller begat Sharon and Barbara. Our mother died shortly after Barb's birth....kidneys stopped working Kelse Nickell was our Mother's father. His wife was Irene and was Mom's mother but died early ....I never saw her...just her stepmother who was very nice. Eloise Nickell was married to Willard Nickell, who was my mother's brother. (Barbara Miller Reed referred to Willard as her mother's half brother.) They had no children. [1]

From Barbara Miller Reed, the daughter of Helen Nickell and was part Cherokee. Barbara refers to Nadia Nickell as her step grandmother. Helen Nickell Miller parents were Kelse L. Nickell and Bertha Irene Taylor according to Helen's death certificate. Irene died of uterine or ovarian cancer and she took pain shots.

On March 12, 2014, Sharon Miller Bevis said, My grandfather Kelse would sometimes arrive at my grade school just to say hello. He and my father were not close. when I was older and had a car I would go over to their house to visit. I would drive up to the Vets place to see my grandfather....he lost one leg for sure and I think he had to have the other leg amputated.

Sharon Miller Bevis said that her grandfather, Kelse Nickell, who worked in a factory in Middletown, OH, Armco Steel. Back then Middletown had many factories and lots of jobs for people without a degree. I think he had a decent pension when he retired. His second wife Nadie also worked. I did feel love from Grandpa Miller and he pretty much raised me and my sister. One bad thing about Armco Steel was that there was soot everywhere. We would have to wash our outside doors to get rid of it.

The record also says that his parents were Asa Nickell and Emily McClure.

According to his WWII Draft Registration, X54S-WYW, In 1942, Kelse was married to Irene Nickell.
