Biography

Elizabeth Nickerson was born on May 11, 1698, in Yarmouth, Massachusetts, to John NIckerson and Elizabeth Baker. She married Silas Sears, Jr., son of Silas Sears and Sarah Crosby, in 1721 in her hometown. They had 12 children in 18 years. She died on July 11, 1755, in her hometown, at the age of 57.

"SILAS SEARS 4 (Silas 3 , Silas 2 , Richard 1), b. Yarmouth, Mass., Dec, 1695 ; d. Apr. 10, 1760 ; m. Elizabeth Nickerson, dau. of John N., of Yar. . .

. . . Silas Sears was a member of the West Church in Yarmouth, in 1 729. His will, dated July 1 1 , 1755, was filed May 6, 1760 ; names wife Elizabeth, and children James, Silas, Moody, Eleazar, Mary Crowell, Hannah Kent, Elizabeth Sears, and Tabathy Sears.

Wife Elizabeth and son Edward, Ex (executors) . Eleazar had the homestead.

John Nickerson of Yar., in his will, July 2, 1744, names daus. Elizabeth Sears, Mary Sears, and Patience Sears, three sisters married to three brothers." ^[1]
