Biography

Bella was born 6 May 1875, Strathaven, to Robert Nicol and Helen Granger.

In 1881, at the age of 5, Bella is living at "Glasgow Road New known as Barn Street Grangers Land", Avondale, Strathaven, Lanarkshire, with her parents, Robert age 40, Helen age 39, and her siblings, Andrew age 13, Helen age 10 and Joseph age 2.

Bella was only 12 when her son Peter Watt was born on 3 Nov 1887, and so he was raised by his paternal grandmother. Peter Watts birth record is Scotlands people 621/00 0133. Bella did not marry the father, Peter Watt, she married James Lindsay.

In 1901, at the age of 26, Bella is living at Montgomery Street, Larkhall, Lanarkshire, with her parents, Robert age 60, Helen age 58, and her siblings, Helen age 30 and Joseph age 21. Bella is a Shop Girl.

Bella passed away in 1942, and she is interred at Cambusnethan cemetery. She is also remembered on the family headstone at Larkhall cemetery.
