Biography

William was born on the 30th Sep, 1849. ^[1]

William (age 22), son of John Charles Nightingale, married Georgina Taylor on 25 December 1871 at Christ Church, Battersea, Wandsworth, England.^[2] In the 1861 census Willm (age 12) was the son of Susan Nightingale in Battersea, Surrey, England.

They had children in the UK before emigrating. The family arrived in New Zealand, at Otago, on board the Peter Denny, sailing on 2nd May 1874.

He worked in the NZ Railways for over 30years

William died on 12 May 1907 ^[4]and was buried in Ōamaru Old Cemetery, Ōamaru, Waitaki District, Otago, New Zealand.^[5]
