Biography
Maria Nilsdotter was born on September 4, 1871 in Överbyn in Vitsand parish, Värmlands län, Sweden. She was the daughter of Nils Jansson and his wife Maria Persdotter.[1]
The source for her death date was a note on a piece of paper stating when Maria had died asking her husband, who was in Wishak, ND working for the Railroad, to come home quickly. The note was written by Oscars Supervisor.

Vaissinen was Maria’s Finnish name. Nilsdotter was her Swedish patronymic name. Bergstrom was her”made up” name the family used as their surname. Bergstrom means mountain by a stream in Swedish.

I am participating in a project on ftdna about the Forest Finns. Maria Bergstrom is a descendant of the Forest Finns. Her ancestors at one time lived in or married into the Finnish Nationality. Her family's Finnish name is Vaissinen.
