Dedra, we are really happy that you took the Pre-1700 certification Quiz. Thank you for doing your part to make WikiTree an accurate and openly collaborative place for genealogists to share their research.
Before entering your profiles, it's important to make sure that person doesn't already exist on WikiTree. A project (http://wikitree.com/wiki/Projects) can help you determine if your family is already here, and help you connect with members who have similar interests. If you have people born before 1700 in your tree, let me know and I'll introduce you to a Project Leader so you can get started.
Please note we're trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means ONE profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add Profiles to WikiTree.
If you'd like any help, see the help section from the menu, top right, or visit the G2G forum. You might want to check out this 5-minute introductory video a member created.
Our Mentor Team is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you. Thank you for helping to build our shared tree!
I am a working mother of six children and enjoy genealogy as a hobby. In the beginning, I was not as diligent about checking copyright/usage since I thought I would never "publish"- I am much better about this now even if I will never distribute or publish in any fashion.
I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.
If you have any brick walls, collaboration might help bust through. Because WikiTree has onlyone profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out. ANY Wiki Genealogist can edit "Open" profiles (over 200 years old = open). There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: brickwall
Welcome to WikiTree! We're growing a FREE worldwide family tree, working for one collaborative profile per person.
Some suggestions to get started:
1. Our Honor Code is a very important part of why our community is such a friendly place to grow your family tree, so please take some time to read it.

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.
