George was born on 21 November 1754 in Newtown, Connecticut. [1] He was baptized 24 November 1754. [2] He was the son of Jonathan Northrop and Ruth Booth.
George passed away on 11 August 1821 in Newtown, Connecticut. He was buried in Village and Town Cemeteries, Newtown, Connecticut. [3] Village and Town Cemeteries is probably the title of the volume and likely refers to small family cemeteries located throughout the town and village of Newtown and much of Connecticut as well.
He passed away intestate, in August 1821, his widow refused administration and Adonirum Fairchild and Nichols Northrop were granted administration.[4]
His inventory was completed on 5 November 1821 in Newtown.[5]
In 1822, his estate distribution was ordered to his widow, Anna, and advancements to the children, Jonathan, Anna, Booth, and Phebe were recorded.[6]
In 1822, his estate distribution was set out to his widow Anna, Jonathan Northrop (eldest son), Booth Northrop, Elijah Northrop, Ziba Northrop, Nichols Northrop, Anna, wife of Seth Peck, Phebe, wife of Josiah Fairchild, and Lucy Ann, wife of Truman Sherman.[7]
