Polly was born about 1799. Polly Norton was William Obediah Wood’s last wife; this marriage was in 1819 in Knox, Tennessee. An Indian Rites Ceremony was performed with no marriage license recorded. This third and last marriage blessed him with three daughters who were all in their teens when their mother (Polly) was killed by a fallen tree limb in 1837. Obediah and his three daughters then moved to Marion County Arkansas to be near three of his sons in Marion County and one nearby in Missouri. This move is documented by his Sept 27, 1837 application to transfer his Revolutionary War Pension to Arkansas. [1]
