Biography

Maria Ellen Nunn was born in 1867 in Grantchester, Cambridgeshire, England to Charles Nunn and Mary (Symonds) Nunn. Her birth was registered in Chesterton, Cambridgeshire in the last quarter of the year [as "female Nunn"], with mother's maiden name Lane [Maria's mother was previously married to John Lane, but her maiden name was Symonds].^[1]

Maria Helen Nunn, daughter of Charles & Mary, was christened on 5 Apr 1868 in Bartlow, Cambridgeshire.^[2]

In 1871 Maria Ellen Nunn (age 3) lived in Grantchester with her father Charles (30, Laborer), mother Mary (39), and four brothers: Fredrick (16, Laborer), Thomas James (14, Office Boy), William John (12, Laborer), and Ernest G (1).^[3]
