Note to Researcher/Descendants

I adopted this profile on 6/7/2021 and on that day discovered I'd evidently inherited the profile of someone who didn't exist. This profile was created by another person in 2013 by the import of a third party gedcom. Bad idea!

"Francis" was linked to John Nunn and Eliza Pratt as his parents, which gave the couple a new mystery son. John and Eliza had thirteen children including a daughter Frances, aka, Fanny. But, they had no son named Francis. And "Francis", of this profile, was deemed to have been born in 1785, making him too old too be a grandson.

This created much work for me scouring references and the internet for how this "Francis" fit into the family. I thought he must be a first cousin of John Nunn and a son of John's uncle, William Nunn Sr. Couldn't find him. I also considered he might be a nephew, but that didn't work.

Looking in Muscogee County Georgia, where he supposedly died led me to the conclusion that the creator of said imported gedcom did a sex change on John and Eliza Pratt's daughter Frances, turning her into a twin child "Francis".

Moral: Don't create profiles using unproven gedcom files. Type the data, thinking about each lines correctness, as you do.

The links to false parents and siblings have been removed. However, this profile will remain hanging like an albatross as a lesson for overeager beginning genealogists, but the name of it's "creator" has been expunged to protect his reputation.
