John Nutting was born, the first son of John Nutting and Sarah (Eggleston) Nutting, at Woburn, MA in 1651. He then removed to Groton, [MA] with his parents. He married Mary Lakin in 1674. John and Mary (Lakin) lived in Concord, [MA] after the burning of Groton, MA in 1676, when his father was killed by the Indians. They returned to Groton before 1693, presumably the old home of his father. In later life, after his wife Mary Lakin died, he married Mrs. Maria Parker. All of his children by his first wife. He was also a member of the Church at Groton.[1]
