Abigail's husband James Goold died on 7 December 1807 in Cork, Ireland.[4]
In that report of his death in the Cork Mercantile Chronicle (Cork, Cork, Ireland), it reports " On the 7th of December, James Goold of Clonakilty in his 61st year (note: husband of Abbigail O'Connell 'Gobby' only child of John O'Connell and his wife, Mary Falvey, of Derrynane. She found him quite intolerable and fled from him with her child, a dau., whose fate is not known). Assumption is Abigail 'Gobby" O'Connell fled from his husband years earlier.
